Ministério Verbo da Vida · Brazil

Daniel Fagundes

I am an ordained minister with Ministério Verbo da Vida (Word of Life), a Brazilian ministry with 480 churches in Brazil and 62 abroad, including Canada.

I am currently in Canada on a field trip, prayerfully seeking a pastoral opportunity that would allow my family to join me, put down roots, and serve a local church and its community.

The call

It started in 2010

In 2010, I watched my church commission two missionaries to Canada and sensed the Lord calling me to serve this nation one day. That conviction has guided my preparation ever since.

I enrolled at Rhema Bible Training Center in 2011 and continued at the Rhema School of Ministry in 2014. In 2018, I spent 45 days in Gatineau and Montréal, experiencing Canadian church life firsthand. The following year, my wife, Carla, and I attended the Rhema School of Missions together, preparing as ministers and as a family.

Verbo da Vida staff

In Campina Grande, I served on the Verbo da Vida staff in communications and later as a staff minister. I also bring 14 years of communications experience, which I would be glad to use in support of the church’s media, outreach, and events.

Senior pastor

During the pandemic, we were sent to pastor a congregation of about 12 people in Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso. Over three years, it grew to approximately 50 committed members as we developed leaders, formed a board, licensed five ministers, and established several ministries.

Director, Rhema School of Ministry

From October 2023 to January 2025, Carla and I directed the Rhema School of Ministry in Brasília and ran its entire operation. The school served 161 students in the 2024 school year, with a team of more than 30. One of our field classes took the students to Novo Gama, where they worked on a shelter for children at risk.

Every time it got too hard and I wanted to give up, one of the things I remembered was that Daniel had gone out of his way for me to be there. And when I arrived at the school, Carla always had a hug that made giving up stop being an option.

Family

Carla and our two children

My desire is to pastor a church in Canada and serve this nation as a missionary alongside my family. My wife, Carla, and I have two children. We are ready to move to a small town and would consider it a privilege to serve its people.

How a church can hire me

Paragraph 186(l) of Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations allows religious leaders whose main duties involve preaching doctrine, presiding at religious functions, or providing spiritual counseling to work in Canada without a work permit or an LMIA.

  1. The church gives me a written job offer.
  2. The church provides supporting documents: proof of registration, recent financial statements and a letter that describes the role and its pastoral duties.
  3. I prepare and submit any required immigration documentation myself.

Letters of reference from pastors in Ontario and Québec are available on request.
